A key area of focus for the Fraser Centre is developing connections and strategies for engaging the South Asian community.

One way we are doing that is supporting the newly formed South Asian Health Research Collaborative, which is a group of clinicians and researchers from various disciplines and settings that want to increase the representation of the South Asian community in health research. This is particular pressing for the Fraser Health region is home to over 240,000 South Asian people growing.

The South Asian Health Research Collaborative is recruiting for two patient partners to join the Collaborative’s Steering Committee. We are looking for patient partners who meet the following criteria:

  • Have experience with the health care system as a patient or an informal caregiver
  • Belong to the South Asian community
  • Feel comfortable sharing experiences and opinions, and participating in discussions 
  • Have an interest or experience in health research
