Every day, across Fraser Health, our team of more than 50,000 staff, medical staff and volunteers strive to make a difference in the lives of others.
In Humans of Fraser Health, you get the opportunity to meet some of these amazing individuals and to learn about who they are, both inside and outside of the workplace.
Meet Velma, Ibrahim, Jade and Sharareh, our latest Humans of Fraser Health.
Velma Webb
Velma is an assisted living nurse with more than 40 years of experience, known for walking alongside her clients through every step of their health care journey. When she’s not moving between assisted living sites, she’s happiest with her hands in the soil of her garden or tending to her beloved beehives.
Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed
Dr. Mohamed is an anesthesiologist at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre dedicated to keeping his patients safe and comfortable. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys cycling through the Fraser Valley.
Jade Tomlinson
Jade never expected to build a career in long-term care, but everything changed when she was placed at Baillie House as a recreational therapist 30 years ago. She fell in love with the work — and the people — and never looked back. Today, she says she learns just as much from the residents as they do from her.
Dr. Sharareh Sajjadi
During the day, Dr. Sajjadi devotes her energy to healing others as an internal medicine specialist at Chilliwack General Hospital. After work, she shifts her focus to her home, where she’s either playing make-believe with her family or tending to her garden.
