The Psychiatric High Acuity Unit is a regional resource for Fraser Health. 

This 10-bed regional support unit is a secure area for the purpose of short-term treatment and assessment for individuals with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, psychosis, mood disorders and concurrent disorders. 

This short-term program provides specialized treatment for patients to continue with their recovery journey. It is intended to stabilize patients who will return to their referring unit for continued treatment. Expected length of stay is 14 days. 

Each patient has their own bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Patient areas include an exercise room, comfort room, large group therapy room, secure patio, dining area and quiet lounge. 

There is increased security and safety for patients and staff entering and exiting the unit. A visitor lounge is located off the secure area before entering the unit. It has a TV, seating area and secure space for storing visitor belongings.
