How to enroll in PRIME to access PharmaNet

What is PharmaNet?

PharmaNet is a record of every prescription that is dispensed in a BC community pharmacy (i.e. Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs, Costco, etc…). It is owned and administered by the Ministry of Health.

PharmaNet is now integrated with MEDITECH Expanse

Patient information in PharmaNet can be pulled into the MEDITECH Expanse patient record.

This integration is part of our digital transformation to improve the quality, consistency and safety of patient care at Fraser Health, and is part of Fraser Health's long-term goal to move towards e-prescribing.

Who is required to enroll?

Nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, pharmacists, registration staff, unit clerks, and booking clerks should enroll in PRIME to allow access to PharmaNet data.

What are the benefits?

  • PharmaNet gives you the full picture of your patient’s prescriptions to protect against drug interactions, dosage errors and adverse reactions due to allergies.
  • Allows you to perform Best Possible Medication History (BPMH) and medication reconciliation workflows.
