Building amenities

Dining room food service delivery; ceiling lifts in most rooms in Rosewood, Marrwood and Cedar Hill.  One free communal telephone in each building.  Telephone and cablevision services are available and are the responsibility of the resident/family.

Language, culture, religious affiliations

Rosewood/Marrwood:  On-site church worship as determined by community pastors.  The Catholic Church offers communion every Wednesday morning and Mass on the second Thursday at afternoon Mass.  The Gospel Hall, North Langley Community Church, St. Andrews Anglican Church and King's Community Church rotate services once a month.  We have a part-time Spiritual Care Coordinator. 
Our dietary department accommodates/adjusts specific or 'cultural' food preferences as much as possible.

Accreditation is an external peer review process to assess and improve the services health care organizations provide to their patients and clients, based on standards of excellence set by Accreditation Canada or the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Our residential care facility provides an environment that respects the life experience and rights and freedoms of the residents we care for. We provide resident and family support enabling everyone to enjoy the quality of life reflective of their needs. We support each resident in their right to privacy and encourage personal choice and participation in making care decisions that are right for them.

Type of accommodation

Total beds: 210; 175 publicly subsidized residential care beds; 20-bed convalescent care unit; 15 DVA beds.

Fifty beds in each of four units (Rosewood/Marrwood/Cedar Hill/Maple Hill). Basics include bed, built-in dresser and small closet, towels, linen.

You may also bring radio/small TV/audio players with earphones, personal chair/personal wheelchairs, pictures, plants.

Items to bring include personal clothing, personal care items such as razor, toothbrush, toothpaste/denture cleaner, hairbrushes and combs, deodorant, and money for comforts.


Residents pay 80% of their after-tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.

Special recreation opportunities

Recreation and activity programming; own bus for outings.

Rosewood/Marrwood celebrates traditional (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc) and non-traditional holidays (St. Patrick's Day, Robbie Burns, Chinese New Year, Shrove Tuesday, St. David’s Day), hold monthly birthday celebrations, and host an annual Seniors’ Week.

Pet policy

Pet visitation program. Bird feed program supported by Family Council and Wild Birds Unlimited.

Smoking policy

Smoking is permitted in designated, outdoor shelter only.  All residents choosing to smoke and are unable to reach the smoking shelter independently must live in Maple House; this allows for easy access to the smoking shelter.

Safety/security features

Keypad entry on all access doors; indoor/grounds security; lighted visitor parking lot; limited family/visitor permit parking directly in front of each residence.

Neighbourhood/community amenities

Public transportation stops on Langley Memorial Hospital grounds.  Nearby shopping centre, recreation centre and neighbourhood pub.

Facility-specific restrictions 

Can accommodate some DVA recipients.

Podiatry services; on-site beauty salon for both men and women; volunteer tuck cart; laundry service, volunteer program.  Gift shop in the main hospital.  Free local newspapers. On-site foot care services for purchase. Convalescent care unit on same site.
