Aboriginal health liaisons are a key part of the care team providing support, advocacy and health education to Indigenous clients and their families in hospital and community settings.

Aboriginal Health Liaisons

Aboriginal health liaisons connect with First Nations, Métis and Inuit patients and family members, health care professionals and other service providers to make sure Indigenous patients receive culturally safe, appropriate and timely care, whether in hospital or community.

Aboriginal health liaisons:

  • Connect patients to community services
  • Advocate for Indigenous clients and assist in system navigation
  • Guide health professionals and care teams in providing culturally safe care for Indigenous clients

If you identify as Indigenous, are receiving care in the Fraser Salish Region and would like to access the services of an Aboriginal Health Liaison, you can call toll free at 1-866-766-6960, available Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays).
