During the past few years, we paused many things because of COVID-19. This often included staying up to date on immunizations.

During the past few years, we paused many things because of COVID-19. This often included staying up to date on immunizations.

Now is a great time to get routine vaccines you missed so that you are protected against vaccine-preventable diseases. Not sure why, how or when? Here is some help.

Are your routine immunizations up to date?

Diseases like measles and polio are resurging, in part because of disruptions caused by COVID-19. Check this list to see if you and your loved ones have your recommended vaccinations.

Do you have travel plans?

It is important to get recommended or required travel immunizations at least six to eight weeks before you go. Some countries require certain immunizations, and some diseases prevented by our routine vaccinations are still common in other countries.

School vaccinations

Parents with children entering kindergarten this September will receive information from Fraser Health about the vaccines their children should get before the first day of school. For older students, our school vaccination program resumed after pausing in 2020 and information is sent home with them at the beginning of the school year.

Booking appointments

Vaccines that are part of the B.C. routine immunization schedules are free and provided by public health units, family doctors, nurse practitioners and pharmacists. Learn more about booking appointments.

Immunization records

It is easy to forget if your routine immunizations are current. Here is how you can request your records.
