The interactive Community Health Atlas and My Health My Community Atlas let you explore and visualize data that describe the factors that shape health and wellness for local communities in the Fraser Health region. The Atlas interfaces can be modified in order to generate maps, graphs or tables to suit your needs.  You are welcome to use the information, maps, graphs or tables for non-commercial purposes in accordance with the Terms of Use.

  • Population

    Adults aged 18 and older. Certain measures pertain to a subpopulation of adults, as indicated in the ‘Metadata’ window on the atlas.

    The majority of measures pertain to the entire population, though many measures pertain to certain subpopulations, as indicated in the ‘Metadata’ window on the atlas.

  • Timeframe

    2013-2014

    Data from multiple points in time is available for the majority of measures. The timeframe and time points available depend on the method and period(s) of data collection.

    Small geographic areas, including municipalities and neighbourhoods where possible

    My Health My Community Survey (2013- 2014). The atlas provides information for Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health.

    • BC Vital Statistics Agency (e.g. Infant mortality, standardized mortality ratios etc.)
    • Primary Health Care Registry (E.g. prevalence for chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases etc.)
    • Statistics Canada (e.g. population sizes, ethnicity etc.)
    • BC Ministry of Education (e.g. high school completion etc.)
    • BC Ministry of Health (e.g. Diabetics having 2 or more A1C tests per year, Walk-in clinics per 100,000 etc.)
    • BC Ministry of Children and Family Development (e.g. children in care etc.)
    • Human Early Development Partnership (5 EDI scales)
    • Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (e.g. total crimes per 1000, juvenile total serious crimes per 1000 etc.)

    The Community Health Atlas presents information on demographics, socio-economic status, health outcomes and hospitalizations for the Fraser Health region, from a range of data sources. The data are available at the local health area-level, which are similar to municipal boundaries in most communities. View the Community Health Atlas.

  • My Health My Community Atlas

    The My Health My Community Atlas provides cross-sectional data from the My Health My Community survey that was completed in 2013-2014 in Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health Authorities. Data is presented for smaller geographies, such as neighbourhoods, and includes information on health behaviours, perceptions of built environment, health conditions and outcomes, and community resilience. The My Health My Community Atlas includes socioeconomic and demographic data for local context. However, we recommend using the Community Health Atlas for population demographics. View the My Health My Community Atlas.
