People in Surrey will have access to enhanced health care services as plans move ahead for a new acute care tower at Surrey Memorial Hospital.

People will have better access to a range of health care services as decanting moves start for two new cardiac catheterization suites, a second interventional radiology suite and a new renal hemodialysis building at Surrey Memorial Hospital as progress continues on 30 actions to support patients and health care providers.

More than 6,000 people are admitted to Fraser Health hospitals for cardiac failure every year. As part of our regional strategy to expand cardiac care, a new cardiac multipurpose interventional suite at Royal Columbian Hospital is now open to provide better access to specialized cardiac procedures. Additionally, a governance structure is in place and project plans are being developed for two new cardiac catheterization (cath) labs at Surrey Memorial Hospital to further enhance access to this important service. The cath labs at Surrey Memorial Hospital will be co-located with a new interventional radiology suite.

Two new public washrooms are now in place at 13633 Grosvenor Road and on the grounds of Surrey Memorial Hospital at 94A and King George Boulevard.
