The survey was mailed to 8,000 randomly selected medical, surgical, maternity and paediatric inpatients discharged from one of Fraser Health’s 12 acute care hospitals between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2008. The overall response rate for Fraser health was 49% with 3,952 inpatients responding; this is slightly below the provincial response rate of 53%.
The survey evaluated inpatients’ experiences with medical, surgical, maternity and paediatric acute care services across eight areas or ‘dimensions of care’.
