Mental Health In-patient and Substance Use Residential Services 2010/11 Satisfaction Survey Results

The results of a province-wide, coordinated survey of the experience of care of mental health short stay in-patients and substance use residential treatment clients (MHSU) discharged from one of B.C.'s 71 facilities (representing 102 units/sites), including those in the Fraser Health Authority, are posted below. This is the first time a survey of this sector has been undertaken in B.C.

How did we do?

Fraser Health’s overall quality of care in its short-stay in-patient Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Services was rated as 87% (good to excellent) by the mental health clients and 96% (good to excellent) by substance use patients who recently participated in the provincial survey.

This was not an evaluation of clinical outcomes of care, but of personal experiences of the health care system.

How will the results be used?
