The Chilliwack General Hospital opened in 1912, and the hospital’s last major construction project on site was the completion of the Diamond Jubilee Pavilion in 1988.

- New ER will be close to triple this size at 1,414 square metres
- Total: 4187 square metres
- New build: 1,787 square metres
- Renovated area: 2,400 square metres
- Project is creating 428,000 man hours of work
- Using approximately:
- 1,500 m3 of concrete - that’s half an Olympic-sized pool
- 272 tonnes of structural steel
- To prepare the site, 2,400 m3 of soil must be excavated
- Project is LEED certified
- Approximately 700 people (including 400 staff) visit the hospital each day
