The Chilliwack General Hospital opened in 1912, and the hospital’s last major construction project on site was the completion of the Diamond Jubilee Pavilion in 1988.
  • Current ER is 515 square metres
  • New ER will be close to triple this size at 1,414 square metres
  • Total: 4187 square metres
    • New build: 1,787 square metres
    • Renovated area: 2,400 square metres
  • Project is creating 428,000 man hours of work
  • Using approximately: 
    • 1,500 m3 of concrete - that’s half an Olympic-sized pool
    • 272 tonnes of structural steel
  • To prepare the site, 2,400 m3 of soil must be excavated
  • Project is LEED certified
  • Approximately 700 people (including 400 staff) visit the hospital each day
