Jim Pattison Outpatient Centre officially opened
May 2011 - The $237-million Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre was officially opened – on time and on budget - making it the first of its kind in British Columbia to provide additional health-care capacity for families and communities across the region.
Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre to Open in 100 Days
Feb 2011 - Representatives from the Province and Fraser Health started a 100-day countdown to the opening of its newest health centre today by announcing a brand new name, launching a $10-million fundraising campaign by the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation.
First Wide MRI Arrives in the Fraser Valley
Aug 2010 - Fraser Health’s new regional Surrey Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre added one of the most advanced diagnostic tools to its imaging inventory on August 18. The new Optima MR450w system from GE Healthcare arrived that day.
One Year From Opening
June 2010 - The countdown to opening for the new Surrey Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre is less than one year away. The Centre, offering day surgery, diagnostic procedures such as lab, X-ray, biopsies and specialized health programs, will open to the public in June 2011.
Building topping off
October 2009 - On October 15, 2009, the $239-million Surrey Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre completed construction on the framing and capping of the roof. In honor of the construction milestone, a ceremonial time capsule was sealed by Health Services Minister Kevin Falcon and Fraser Health Representatives.
Value for Money report issued
June 2009 - On June 18, 2009 Partnerships BC and Fraser Health released the Project Report: Achieving Value for Money for the Surrey Outpatient Hospital project. The report summarizes information about the centre such as final total cost and benefits. The final agreement with BC Healthcare Solutions is expected to achieve value for taxpayers’ dollars of $22.6 million.
Construction Breaks Ground
September 2008 - On September 18, 2008, construction on the new Surrey Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre kicked off. The Centre has been expanded to be almost a third larger than originally planned. The Province of BC announced the finalization of a fixed-price contract with BC Healthcare Solutions to design, build, finance and maintain the new outpatient facility.
BC Healthcare Solutions is Partner
May 2008 - After an extensive evaluation of proposals, BC Healthcare Solutions was selected as the company that the Province would enter into negotiations with to design, build, finance and maintain the new facility.
RFP issued
September 2007 - The request for proposals was issued on September 17, 2007, inviting the short list of prospective proponents to submit a bid to design, build, finance and maintain the outpatient facility as a private partner.
Green Timbers Land Transfer
June 2007 - Another milestone in the planning and construction of the new Surrey outpatient facility was reached on June 22, 2007, with the transfer of 2.3 hectares (5.8 acres) of Crown land to Fraser Health.
RFQ issued
March 2007 - The request for qualification was issued on March 21, 2007, inviting proposals from firms wishing to be considered as qualified bidders when the request for proposal was issued. The RFQ closed April 19, 2007 and the short list of successful proponents was announced May 8, 2007.
