The newly expanded 30-station renal unit includes space for 12 new renal stations and an expanded waiting area to accommodate patients as they wait for dialysis. Intensive care unit expansion complete The expansion of the Surrey Memorial Hospital intensive care unit (ICU) to 15 beds was a complex three-phase capital project. It involved expanding the intensive care unit by three beds and renovating and relocating several other programs within the hospital. Due to the sensitive nature of the ICU environment the project was carefully staged to ensure patient safety. Construction of the ICU and the new renal unit occurred simultaneously. |
