The Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre will improve the quality of care for Fraser Valley residents by providing a full range of scheduled outpatient services, including day surgery, diagnostic services and medical/health clinics.New programs

Anticoagulation Management Clinic - Close management of patient blood thinning medication levels is required to avoid problems with clotting and/or bleeding. This new program model is more effective at achieving targeted levels, which can significantly improve health outcomes. Breast Health Clinic - This is the first breast health clinic within Fraser Health that aims to diagnosis women with a suspicion of breast cancer within 21 days. A triple assessment (mammogram and/or ultrasound, physical exam, and tissue sample) can often be done in one visit. Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention - An integrated clinic that provides cardiac illness patients with specialized services, support, and treatment. Diabetes - A variety of specialists and educational services to assist diabetic patients with self-management. Heart Health - A wide range of services to support patients with cardiac illness. Kidney Stone, Prostate Health, and Bladder Care - The Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) surgical procedure for stones is available for the first time within Fraser Health, along with other services for clients with kidney stones, prostate and urinary tract conditions. Laboratory Medicine - A satellite lab to Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) offering Level 1 chemistry, hematology, blood products and some pathology services. Other testing will be referred to the SMH lab. Lung Diagnostics - Lung function testing to help physicians and clinicians assess the extent of lung disease and to guide treatment or surgery options. Lung Health - Services to help patients better manage chronic lung illness from diagnosis to rehabilitation. Maternity Clinic - Services for women requiring care during pregnancy, including for gestational diabetes, excessive nausea and vomiting, and others. Medical Day Care - A variety of client-centered services to support people with continuing health needs, who require medical care but not hospitalization. Medical Imaging - General X-ray, MRI and CT scans, bone densitometry, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology, ultrasound, diagnostic and screening mammography, nuclear medicine, diagnostic cardiology, holter monitoring and stress testing to aid in diagnosing ailments. Booking/scheduling for all outpatient imaging procedures (whether it is performed at SMH or the Care and Surgery Centre) will be handled at this location. Neurology - An outpatient clinic that provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment for people with neurological symptoms and conditions. Pain Clinic - The first fully integrated pain clinic in British Columbia. A multidisciplinary team of health care professionals helps clients manage chronic pain to improve function, return to work and reduce their need for health care services. Pharmacy - Helping patients to simplify and manage complicated medication regimens to achieve the best outcomes from medications, as well as supply medication to effectively support patient care within the facility. Plastics Surgery Follow-up - A multidisciplinary outpatient Plastic Surgery Clinic with a focus on post surgical follow-up and a comprehensive hand therapy program. Positive Health - The first comprehensive HIV/AIDS/Hepatitis C program within Fraser Health, operating five days a week. Pre-operative Assessment - Screening of patients prior to surgical procedures, includes testing, assessment and anesthesiology consultation when required. This service will also screen patients for non-emergency surgeries taking place at SMH. Primary Care Clinic - Will help minimize repeat admissions to hospital by providing follow-up care where required for Surrey Memorial Hospital patients who are without a regular family physician. Renal/Vascular Access - A surgical procedure for patients with kidney disease which involves inserting a shunt to allow the patient to receive hemodialysis treatment. Specialized Seniors Clinic - Services to help seniors manage their complex health care needs in order to optimize quality of life, improve self management of chronic conditions, maintain independence, and to reduce the need for emergency visits, hospitalization and residential care. Sterile Processing -To clean, disinfect, assemble, package, store and distribute surgical instruments, supplies and equipment for use in the Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre. Surgical Procedures and Scopes - Examinations that can be scheduled and delivered on the same day, including cystoscopy (scope of the bladder), gastroscopy (scope of the stomach) or breast biopsy. Surgery - Scheduled surgical procedures, where the client is able to go home on the same day. |
