We will contact successful applicants for a personal interview.

Step 3Following a successful interview, we will contact references and a criminal record check will be requested.

Step 4Upon completion of satisfactory references and a criminal record check, potential volunteers will be invited to attend a hospital orientation session.  This is mandatory for all volunteers and will give you the knowledge you need for a safe and successful volunteer experience.

Step 5Following the LMH orientation, you will be scheduled for training shifts specific to your volunteer role or service area. Once you have finished your training, you will be ready to begin your regular Volunteer shift at Langley Memorial Hospital!

Teen volunteer opportunities – 16 to 18 years

The VolunTEEN program is sponsored by the generous support of the Langley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  VolunTEENs have an opportunity to volunteer in patient units providing library services and other tasks related to patient care, and at the Information Desk. Teens from 15 – 18 years of age, attending school in Langley or recently graduated are invited to apply.  Preference is given to applicants with prior volunteer or work experience and the intent to pursue a career in health care. VolunTEENS commit to attending 2 hours per day, once per week, for the entire program.

The VolunTEEN program is offered at LMH in two separate sessions.

Regular VolunTEEN Program - September to May

Deadline for applications if 4 pm the last Friday in August.
