Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH). Volunteer involvement is essential to the quality and continuity of health care services on the SMH Campus. For this reason, Volunteer Resources takes special care and time in the selection and placement of volunteers. Review the important information below about where and how to get involved.
Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) Auxiliary:
Formed in 1947, the SMH Auxiliary is a group of community members who give thousands of hours annually to support health care in the Surrey community. Their fundraising initiatives include:

On the SMH Campus there is a range of volunteer programs from fundraising to patient and visitor support. Become a part of the volunteer team and get involved!

STEP 1: Review the Volunteer Program List to see where volunteers are involved on the Surrey Memorial Hospital Campus.
STEP 2: Visit www.govolunteer.ca to check if there are any current openings in the volunteer programs that you are interested in before completing the application form.
STEP 3: Download and submit completed application form to the Volunteer Resources Department.
Youth Summer Program
Each year we host a summer youth program for grade 11 and 12 students. Applicants must be 16 to 19 years old and be able to maintain a regular 2-6 hour shift once a week from July-September. The application package is available online in April. Shortlisted applicants participate in a 1.5 hour interview. Those selected for placement must attend an orientation in late June.
