As everyone starts to spend more time indoors, we see more people getting sick with a variety of bugs, including influenza.

In order to protect yourself and your family, the two most important things to remember are hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette.

Hand hygiene

It is important to regularly practice hand hygiene using soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub.

Respiratory etiquette

Respiratory etiquette involves coughing into your elbow, covering your mouth and nose with a tissue, and wearing a facemask if you have a cough and need to come to the hospital.

Other important reminders

  • Do not visit family and friends at the hospital if you are not feeling well
  • Stay home if you are sick
