Seton Villa is a 19-storey building located in Burnaby.  The top floor is all resident activity space. Each suite has an exceptional view.  Owned and operated by Action Line Housing.

How do I access assisted living?

Access to subsidized assisted living units is through a Home Health assessment. For more information on subsidized units, contact the local Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized units.

Building amenities

We serve three meals daily, as well as snacks; guest meals are available. Weekly housekeeping and weekly personal laundry are included.

Language, culture, religious affiliations

English is the predominant language although staff speaks over 15 languages.  Church services available.

Type of accommodation

28 publicly subsidized units.  Each floor has a refrigerator, microwave and washer/dryers. Residents provide their own furnishings.

Cost

Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income which covers: 1) monthly rental accommodation; 2) hospitality services: two meals and two snacks daily, weekly housekeeping, flat laundry, etc.; 3) personal care; and 4) on-site emergency response system.

Residents on income assistance pay a flat rate.

Items not included as part of the monthly fee include: telephone, cable, hydro, personal laundry, household and toiletry supplies, medications, personal care products and insurance.

Special recreation opportunities

Residents can participate in pool exercises, library, tea and talk, exercise, card games, shopping trips, mystery trips, outings, bingo, poker, billiards, birthday and welcome teas, board games, movies, current events, crafts and shuffleboard.

Accessibility

Residents must be able to move around in their own apartment with or without the use of mobility aids.  Electric wheelchairs designed for indoor use may be permitted with pre-approval of the Executive Director. At present, outdoor scooter parking only; scooters permitted outside the building only. 

Pet policy

We cannot accommodate pets; however, pet visitors are encouraged.

Smoking policy

There is no smoking in the building; an outdoor smoking area is available.

Safety/security features

Each resident wears a wireless safety pendant electronically connected to staff pagers. Fully secured building with security cameras; 24-hour staff.

Neighbourhood/community amenities

Confederation Seniors Centre and the library are nearby. A community bus stop is at the front door. The residence owns a 23-passenger bus for outings.  The residence offers a pool, jacuzzi, garden area, fish pond, private garden plots, 24-hour bistro and a hair salon.

Residence-specific restrictions

Offers hospitality and personal assistance services to seniors and adults with disabilities.
