Victoria Heights is a four-storey assisted living residence with one-bedroom suites on the top three floors. Surrounded by trees and with wonderful views over the Fraser River.  Owned and operated by Good Samaritan Canada.

How do I access assisted living?

Access to subsidized assisted living units is through a Home Health assessment. For more information on subsidized units, contact the local Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized units.

Building amenities

We serve lunch and dinner in the fourth floor dining room every day. Breakfast can be purchased as an optional extra. Tea and coffee available all day. Housekeeping provided once weekly. Laundry rooms situated on each floor.

Lutheran based social services organization.

Type of accommodation

57 publicly subsidized units.  Units have full stove and fridge freezer in kitchen, walk-in shower in bathroom.

Cost

Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income which covers: 1) monthly rental accommodation; 2) hospitality services: two meals and two snacks daily, weekly housekeeping, flat laundry, etc.; 3) personal care; and 4) on-site emergency response system.

Residents on income assistance pay a flat rate.

Items not included as part of the monthly fee include: telephone, cable, hydro, personal laundry, household and toiletry supplies, medications, personal care products and insurance.

Special recreation opportunities

The recreation and volunteer coordinator organizes a monthly activity calendar.

Accessibility

Residents must be able to move around in their own apartment and make their way to the dining room, with or without mobility aids. Electric wheelchairs designed for indoor use may be permitted with pre-approval of the Executive Director. Scooter Room available in the parkade.

Pet policy

One small dog or cat allowed; residents need to be able to manage pet care.

Smoking policy

No smoking allowed within building.

Safety/security features

Telcare response system; calls go directly to spectra-link phones carried by assisted living workers. On-site security cameras.

Neighbourhood/community amenities

Looks out over the Fraser River; Queen's Park is nearby.  Transit bus stop to downtown New Westminster’s shopping district is nearby.

Residence-specific restrictions

Offers hospitality and personal assistance to seniors and adults with disabilities.

Underground parkade for tenants.
