How do I access assisted living?

Building amenities | We serve three meals in the dining room daily. Tea stations offer snacks and drinks on a self-serve basis throughout the day. Room service is available. Weekly housekeeping, towel, linen and personal laundry services are provided. |

Type of accommodation | 12 publicly subsidized units. Each unit has an ensuite bathroom with sit-down shower and air conditioning. One-bedroom units include an apartment size fridge. All studio units have a bar fridge. Residents provide their own furnishings. |
Cost | Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income which covers: 1) monthly rental accommodation; 2) hospitality services: two meals and two snacks daily, weekly housekeeping, flat laundry, etc.; 3) personal care; and 4) on-site emergency response system. Residents on income assistance pay a flat rate. Items not included as part of the monthly fee include: telephone, cable, hydro, personal laundry, household and toiletry supplies, medications, personal care products and insurance. |
Special recreation opportunities | There is a monthly calendar of social, cultural and recreational activities. There is also an activity/lifestyle program tailored to meet the needs of individual residents. |
Accessibility | Residents must be able to move around in their own apartment with or without the use of mobility aids. Electric wheelchairs designed for indoor use may be permitted with pre-approval of the Executive Director. The building offers indoor power and parking for scooters. |

Safety/security features | This residence has 24-hour call bell monitoring. Each suite and common areas are equipped with a fire alarm, smoke detector, sprinkler and emergency lighting. Common areas also have handrails and are wheelchair accessible. |
Neighbourhood/community amenities | The hospital and local shopping are within walking distance. Complimentary taxi service to downtown shopping. |
Residence-specific restrictions | Offers hospitality and personal assistance services to seniors and adults with disabilities. |
Any other amenities | There is lighted parking for residents and guests. Amenities include a TV lounge with large screen TV, library, laundry facilities, piano and organ lounge, games tables, billiards table and a beauty and barbershop. |
