The Stó:lô Elders Lodge is a ground-level building with 15 assisted living suites for seniors and persons with disabilities. The building is designed to showcase the unique First Nation heritage and culture and is based upon a traditional single-slope longhouse concept. The unique gas fireplace in the common sitting area provides warmth to the room. Owned and operated by Stó:lô Nation.

How do I access assisted living?
Please do not contact the residence directly. All of our residences are accessed through a case manager. Learn more about how to access this service on the Assisted Living page.
Learn more about this residence Contact | Access to subsidized assisted living units is through a Home Health assessment. For more information on subsidized units, contact the local Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized units. For information on market units, please refer to the Seniors Housing Information Program (SHIP) directory. |
Building amenities | We serve lunch and dinner daily; snacks are available throughout the day. Weekly housekeeping of suites including laundering bed sheets, towels and personal clothing. |
Language, culture, religious affiliations | English is spoken; First Nation culture (existing residents); no religious affiliation. |
Type of accommodation | 15 publicly subsidized units. Each unit contains a refrigerator, cooking range, and microwave. Residents provide their own furnishings. |
Cost | Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income which covers: 1) monthly rental accommodation; 2) hospitality services: two meals and two snacks daily, weekly housekeeping, flat laundry, etc.; 3) personal care; and 4) on-site emergency response system. Residents on income assistance pay a flat rate. Items not included as part of the monthly fee include: telephone, cable, hydro, personal laundry, household and toiletry supplies, medications, personal care products and insurance. |
Special recreation opportunities | Varied social and recreational activities are planned according to residents’ needs. |
Accessibility | Residents must be able to move around in their own apartment with or without the use of mobility aids. Electric wheelchairs designed for indoor use may be permitted with pre-approval of the Executive Director. Parking for all motorized scooters is available in the Scooter Room. |
Pet policy | We cannot accommodate pets. |
Smoking policy | No smoking is permitted inside suites or the building; a designated outdoor smoking area is available. |
Safety/security features | A 24/7 emergency response system is installed in each unit; all residents have pendants to use in case of emergency. Our 24-hour security monitoring system includes four cameras monitoring the hallways, front door and side door to the patio. |
Neighbourhood/community amenities | Stó:lô Elders Lodge is within walking distance to Cottonwood Mall, Luckakuck Mall, a bingo hall, food services and Safeway. |
