Langley Seniors Village is an open concept, four-storey, 120-bed assisted living residence with a dining room, kitchen, private dining room and exercise area. Beautiful landscaping includes waterfalls, walkways and numerous sitting areas, and raised garden beds for resident participation and enjoyment.  Owned and operated by Retirement Concepts.

Access to subsidized assisted living units is through a Home Health assessment. For more information on subsidized units, contact the local Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized units.

Building amenities

We serve lunch and dinner daily in the dining room. Two self-serve snacks are available daily in the bistro bar. The Country Kitchen is available for making your own snacks.  Weekly light housekeeping and laundering of flat linen and towels are included.

Type of accommodation

64 publicly subsidized units.  Each unit has a microwave and a refrigerator. Residents provide their own furnishings.

Cost

Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income which covers: 1) monthly rental accommodation; 2) hospitality services: two meals and two snacks daily, weekly housekeeping, flat laundry, etc.; 3) personal care; and 4) on-site emergency response system.

Residents on income assistance pay a flat rate.

Items not included as part of the monthly fee include: telephone, cable, hydro, personal laundry, household and toiletry supplies, medications, personal care products and insurance.

Special recreation opportunities

A full-time recreation director and part-time assistant offer a daily recreation program consisting of numerous activities including exercises, bingo, entertainment, crafts, baking, movie nights and bus trips.

Accessibility

Residents must be able to move around in their own apartment with or without the use of mobility aids.  Electric wheelchairs designed for indoor use may be permitted with pre-approval of the Executive Director.  Motorized scooters are permitted provided they do not pose a safety risk.

Pet policy

With prior written approval from the manager, small pets up to 16” are permitted. The owner must ensure the pet does not disturb other residents, submit a $250 damage deposit and provide emergency contact information. Pets must have a health certificate provided by a licensed veterinarian certifying good health and freedom from parasites.

Smoking policy

There is no smoking at the building or in any of the suites; designated smoking areas are available outdoors.

Safety/security features

The building has a nurse call pendant system, including a visual computerized program.  All suites are complete with nurse call bells in the bathroom and living area.  The front entrance is designed with an EntraPhone system to protect the building from unauthorized access. Residents and families have security codes to access the building.  The underground gate is closed at all times; residents enter by using a key fob.

Langley Seniors Village is central to all amenities including the seniors' centre, Municipality of Langley, Willowbrook Mall, pharmacies and Langley Memorial Hospital.

Underground resident parking is available for a monthly charge; visitors’ parking is at the front of the building or surrounding on-street areas.  Library, Internet café, general store, multi-purpose theatre room, hair salon, own mini-bus for outings.
