How do I access residential care?

Access to subsidized residential care units is through a Home Health assessment. For more information on subsidized units, contact the Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized units.

Weekly multi-cultural church services.  Our staff and residents speak many languages, including English, German, Punjabi, Russian and Polish.

Accreditation is an external peer review process to assess and improve the services health care organizations provide to their patients and clients, based on standards of excellence set by Accreditation Canada.

Together, through shared dialogue and support, our staff works with the resident and caregiver to follow the Eden Philosophy. By encouraging choice and promoting resident decision-making as much as possible we enrich the lives of our residents. We strive for respect in an appropriate, warm, home-like, family environment to make a difference in the lives of our residents.

Type of accommodation

Total beds:  96; 82 publicly subsidized residential care beds; 12 respite beds. 

Basics include bed, dresser, lamp, towels and linen.

You may also bring a radio, TV, personal chair, pictures, plants, fridge; all items should be labeled and need to be checked by our maintenance staff prior to use.

Items to bring include labeled personal clothing, money for comforts. Labeling is available for a minimal cost.

Cost

Residents pay 80% of their after-tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.

Recreation and activity programming.

Accessibility

No available space for electric wheelchairs/scooters at present.

Pet policy

In-house cat and bird; fish pond. Regularly scheduled pet visitation program plus visitor pets daily.

Smoking policy

Smoking is not permitted.

Indoor/grounds observation, “wandering” alert security.

Neighbourhood/community amenities

HandyDART for outings, nearby public transportation.

Facility-specific restrictions

Offers 24-hour nursing care and support to seniors.

Any other amenities

Podiatry services, dental, physiotherapy, on-site beauty salon. On-street parking.  Some respite beds available on same site.
