Chilliwack - The Stó:lô Elders Lodge is a ground level building with 15 assisted living suites for seniors and persons with disability. The building is designed to showcase the unique First Nation heritage and culture and is based upon a traditional single-slope longhouse concept. The curve of the building takes advantage of passive solar radiation to alleviate the perspective of a long dead-end corridor. The clerestory windows along the corridor create lightness and interest in the corridor that is always changing as time passes throughout the day.
