What's happening at Royal Columbian Hospital?

  • Documentation is part of our every day care for our patients. The Integrated Plan of Care (IPoC) project team has designed the Patient Care System 2 (PCS2) module to incorporate Care Standards and support patient care-workflows (e.g., admission, assessments, care planning, interventions, etc.). 
  • Electronic documentation for Emergency Psychiatry, Inpatient, Psychiatry SC1, and Psychiatry SC2 will Go-Live on May 23, 2018.

How does this impact students and faculty instructors at Royal Columbian Hospital?

  • Between May 23, 2018 and June 13, 2018 student placements will be limited to preceptorships placements only. This is to allow for Fraser Health employees to become familiar with using the PCS2 system.
  • Any other student placements that are scheduled to begin prior to the Go-Live date shall be rescheduled to begin from Thursday, June 14, 2018 onwards.

How will students and faculty instructors be supported with education?

  • Computer-Based Training (CBT) modules will be made available to students and faculty instructors to receive the same training as staff.
  • Students in Emergency Pysch. Inpatient, Psychiatry SC1, and Psychiatry SC2: The EMR and PCS2 CBT modules are available on Learning Hub for registration.
  • Download Adobe Flash if you are unable to view the CBT modules.
  • All training must be complete prior to May 23, 2018.
  • Fraser Health Go-Live staff will provide PCS2 support during implementation.
