Parking proceeds help support the purchase of much needed hospital equipment and services.

Pay parking was reinstated in health authority sites by the Ministry of Health on March 4.

There are some exemptions for pay parking for patients, including:

  • Patients accessing cancer services
    • Diagnosed cancer patients and their caregivers are eligible for free parking while accessing care team appointments, cancer surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, laboratory tests and imaging related to their treatment (free parking does not apply for cancer screening or evaluation).
      • Patients and their caregivers can claim free parking by reporting your vehicle license plate number to the registration desk when you arrive at the site (patient name is optional).
      • We cannot reimburse for parking at private sites, i.e. non-health authority.
  • Patients accessing dialysis services
    • Patients and their caregivers can claim free parking by reporting your vehicle license plate number to the registration desk when you arrive at the site (patient name is optional).
    • We cannot reimburse you for parking at private sites, i.e. non-health authority.
  • Parents and caregivers who have a child overnight in hospital.
    • Patients and their caregivers can claim free parking by reporting your vehicle license plate number to the registration desk when you arrive at the site (patient name is optional).
    • We cannot reimburse you for parking at private sites, i.e. non-health authority.
