Acute Care Staff Prioritized to Receive H1N1 Vaccine

Workplace Health is being provided with vaccine to deliver to acute care staff. Vaccine will be delivered based on availability on a priority basis as per the Provincial Health Officer recommendations.

The priority groups are currently defined as:

  • Health Care Workers with underlying medical conditions as well as those who are at any stage of pregnancy continue to be eligible to receive vaccine.
  • ALL DIRECT CARE STAFF in all units will be provided with the vaccine. Please check the intranet or internet for clinics in your facility.

Please remember that the staff giving the immunizations to you are not responsible for setting the criteria and prioritization for who is eligible to get the vaccine and those that are not.

Please treat them with the respect that you would any other colleague and co-worker.
