My Hospital Pal is a child-friendly application that uses image recognition technology to educate children during their hospital visits. 

Download the My Hospital Pal app on your Android or iOS device and scan the acorns posted around our unit or on our page below to learn about what to expect during your visit.

Chip, the squirrel, will be your hospital pal and help answer your questions like what you will wear, where you will go and who you will meet.

  • Learn more about My Hospital Pal

    My Hospital Pal is an augmented reality application that uses image recognition technology to display scenarios via a squirrel named Chip. Parents of the child can download the application during their hospital visit.  

    Disclaimer: This app is intended to be used by children under adult supervision. 

    • Step one: Install and open My Hospital Pal on your Android or Apple mobile device or tablet.
    • Step two: Click Install and read the disclaimer to continue.
    • Step three: Open the app and point the camera on your phone towards the image on the poster. Upon recognizing the image, Chip will appear with a short message.

    Scenario one:
    Chip appears on the screen to welcome the child.

    Chip appears to provide some information to comfort the child (i.e. wearing pajamas before the surgery).
